OFFICIAL: Masaharu Fukuyama Is Hiko Seijuro In RUROUNI KENSHIN: THE LEGEND ENDS!

Hours earlier, the official Facebook page of the Rurouni Kenshin movie franchise fulfilled most of the fans’ long time fantasies, as they announced that actor Masaharu Fukuyama will be taking the cape of the iconic kenjutsu master Hiko Seijuro in the upcoming flick Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends.

In both manga and anime iterations, Hiko is the master of Kenshin Himura and the 13th successor to the Hiten Mitsurugi art of swordsmanship. He first appeared during the Kyoto arc, in which his former pupil asked his help in completing his training in the hopes of defeating Shishio. As to which extent his live-action counterpart will be playing in the third film is yet to be revealed.

Rurouni Kenshin: The Legend Ends will hit local shores September 24.
