Netflix’ CASTLEVANIA Unleashes Bloody Teaser
Months after teasing the project, Netflix unloads its first teaser trailer for the upcoming animated iteration of the long-running video game franchise, Castlevania.
The trailer offered sparse details about its plot and setting, but it manages to unveil its animation style, which is akin to the style seen in DC’s latest animated films. Adi Shankar (The Grey) is at the helm of the film, with seasoned writers Warren Ellis and Kevin Kolde joining the fray for the story.
Also known in Japan as Akumajō Dracula (Devil’s Castle Dracula), Castlevania is a series of dark fantasy-themed action-adventure video games created and developed by Konami, centered on the Belmont family, a clan of vampire hunters, and their fight with Dracula. The series debuted in Japan on September 26, 1986. Since then, the franchise has spawned multiple sequels and spinoffs crossing over various platforms and systems.
Castlevania will be streaming on Netflix, July 7, 2016.
