Live-Action RUROUNI KENSHIN Movie Sequels Spotlight the Juppongatana

Greet the new year with this awesome shot of the two live-action Rurouni Kenshin movie sequels’ version of the legendary Juppongatana, taken from the film’s official website. Led by the ruthless Makoto Shishio (Tatsuya Fujiwara), this band of highly skilled swordsmen promise to pose a formidable threat to Kenshin Himura (Takeru Satoh) and his friends.

The members of the movieverse’s “Ten Swords” are Sojiro Seta (Ryunosuke Kamiki), Cho Sawagejo (Ryosuke Miura), Hoji Sadojima (Kenichi Takito), Anji Yukyuzan (Tomomi Maruyama), Usui Uonuma (Matsu Murata), Kamatari Honjo (Hiroko Yashiki), Henya Kariwa (Yuuya Hara), Iwanbo (Takao Yamada), Saizuchi (Kentaro Shimazu), and Fuji (Kota Yamaguchi).

The actors join returning cast members Emi Takei (as Kaoru Kamiya), Munetaka Aoki (as Sanosuke Sagara), Yuu Aoi (as Megumi Takani), and Yosuke Eguchi (as Hajime Saito), as well as new cast members Tao Tsuchiya (as Misao Makimachi), Yusuke Iseya (as Aoshi Shinomori), Min Tanaka (as Nenji Kashiwazaki/Okina), Kazufumi Miyazawa (as Toshimichi Okubo), Yukiyoshi Ozawa (as Hirobumi Ito), KaitoOyagi (replacing Taketo Tanaka as Yahiko Myojin), and Maryjun Takahashi (as Yumi Komagata).

The two sequels will cover the entirety of the Kyoto arc from the manga and anime. The first of the two,  Rurouni Kenshin: Kyoto Taika-hen (Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire), is scheduled to be released in Japan on August 1, to be followed by Rurouni Kenshin: Densetsu no Saigo-hen (Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend) on September 13. Philippine release dates for the two sequels have yet to be announced.
