To sum it all up..

With the surplus of apocalyptic fiction nowadays, from zombies to vampires to zombie-vampires, Memetic certainly brings a different approach.

What is a meme? Contrary to popular belief, a meme is not just a cat picture with captions in broken English. A meme is a self-replicating thought, idea or a behavior which is instilled in people’s minds transmitted through several forms of communication that follows a similar theme. Simply put, it is like an “idea virus” – easy to catch and very contagious.

With the surplus of apocalyptic fiction nowadays, from zombies to vampires to zombie-vampires, Memetic certainly brings a different approach.  Memetic is a 3-part book created by James Tynion IV (Red Hood and the Outlaws, Batman Eternal) and newcomer artist – Eryk Donovan (The House in the Wall) about a single image that caused the annihilation of the human race within 72 hours.

The plot alone piqued my interest. I couldn’t have expected anything less than perfect writing from James Tynion IV as the story was well-paced and captivating – and that’s just reading a few pages of it. Combined with the thematic artwork of Eryk Donovan, Memetic certainly has the unique feel to it.

Memetic looks very promising. Fans of mystery or anyone who just wants a good read should grab it. And c’mon!? Who doesn’t want to know how a single picture caused the end of humanity?
