This issue moves forward by focusing on the Marchioness as she gets the spotlight for a good portion of this issue. Spurrier treats us to more of the Marchioness’ personality all while balancing with the ongoing mystery of the comic itself. Once the spotlight on the Marchioness ends, there’s this feeling that hopefully Spurrier goes back to her for more focus in the future.
Jeff Stokely and Andre May’s art here once again continues to deliver as they started in the first issue with well done panels along with the warm colors that look unique in different scenarios.
Another thing to note once again is Steve Wands’ lettering as he emphasizes quirky dialogue and the occasional whispers the characters say.
The Spire #2 continues to deliver as it began in the first issue this time with more character focus. While the character focus does end, the actual ongoing mystery of the comic progresses which gives the reader a reason to be excited for the next issue.
