Philippine Game Development Festival 2012 is BACK!

Philippine Game Development Festival 2012 Set to Conquer UP Diliman

Game development is a multi billion industry worldwide, and Filipinos in the game design and development industry are not letting any international big shots get all the recognition! Though still very young, the Philippine game development industry has a big future waiting for it. The thriving game development community in the Philippines is fully supported by the Game Developers Association of the Philippines (GDAP), a premier association committed to the advancement and growth of homegrown talents in the gaming industry.

Every year since 2010, GDAP holds the largest and most-awaited Philippine game development industry event, the Philippine Game Development Festival (PGDF). Now on its third year, the PGDF’12  to be held at the University of the Philippines Diliman on Dec 7-8, 2012, will gather the country’s visionaries in the gaming world to inspire a new breed of developers and celebrate the growth of the country’s gaming and creative industry.

The 2-day event with the theme “The Power to Create, the Power to Rule” is organized by GDAP and their academic partner, University of the Philippines Association for Computing Machinery (UP ACM), and government partner, Department of Science and Technology – Information and Communication Technology Office (DOST-ICTO).

The festival will showcase the latest global trends in game development as well as successes by Filipino talents through a series of lectures, break-out sessions, and workshops designed to keep the community up to speed with the current global trends in game development. Participants can also look forward to a job fair, game competitions, awards night, business to business meetings, cocktail night and more. It is also the association’s way of giving back to the community by sharing trade secrets and insights from the industry experts.
