Dead by Daylight is a fun horror themed game where you can either play as a Survivor or the Killer. The game may feel a little intimidating at first but once you start to understand more about it, intimidation turns to excitement(with a little jump scare every now and then). Your goal in the game will depend on the role you play:

As a Killer, your goal is to sacrifice all Survivors to the Entity. You do this by taking each Survivor down and hooking them up on to Meat Hooks until they eventually die.

A Survivor’s main goal is to escape the Trial. You do this by fixing a total of 5 Generators and opening an Exit gate after. Other goals would be helping out a fellow survivor in case a Killer catches them.

After every match you earn Blood Points, these points are what you use to level your character. Blood points can be earned throughout the entire match by doing certain tasks. As you get to know the game, you will find out what specific tasks earn you the most points.

As you level, you gain access to Perks. These perks will help you in your matches. Each character has their own set of Unique Perks and Teachable Perks. Unique Perks are perks exclusive to that Character only (Killer/Survivor) while Teachable Perks are perks that can be learned by the other Characters. Perks are basically character skills. Some are active, while some are passive and are only triggered in specific situations.

My first few matches in this game was basically me hiding throughout the entire match. I got really tense whenever I heard a heartbeat(It means the Killer is nearby!), and I was so bad at fixing Generators, it just kept exploding and giving away my location (Sad pitiful Survivor xD). See, there’s this part where you have to press space at the right time while you’re doing certain actions like fixing generators or healing your allies to continue with the action’s progress, if you don’t succeed then you’re potentially in trouble… HIDE!

I love how this game doesn’t give the Survivors a chance to fight back. While there are instances where you can slow a Killer down or stun him, there’s no way to actually kill him. For me, this is what makes chases more thrilling since you know that you have no other option but to run for your life once the Killer finds you!

Overall, the game is fun and exciting. At first, you may find yourself tense and stressed out in your first few matches but in time you’ll understand more about the game’s mechanics. Eventually, you’ll find Dead by Daylight more amusing than it is scary. This game is definitely better to play with a group of friends; friends that plays together, screams altogether!
