Flipgeeks’ Top 5 Games for Halloween

Slenderman

It’s that time of the year again where staying home alone is really not an enticing idea. I compiled a list of games you could play during the Halloween weekend and believe me when I say this, I won’t be playing these games alone!

The following list is based on the games I played and those I’m planning to play as well. It is in no particular order. If you have any games you would like to recommend to us just hit us in the comments section below.

1. Five Nights at Freddy’s

The game is mainly about you playing a role of a security guard and you’re tasked to work the graveyard shift inside the pizzeria from hell: Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. You have one goal, and that is to man the security cameras and make sure that the animatronic puppets don’t go missing. You only have a limited supply of power which when drained out, will make you defenseless against these foul robotic animals. Prepare yourself for massive jumpscares but you should be alright once you get used to it.

2. Siren: Blood Curse

This game is episodic in nature and focuses more on stealth. The game’s main baddies called ‘Shibito’ is essentially unkillable. The weapons granted in-game are mainly tasked to just render the Shibito lifeless for just a short span of time, which you should use for evasion and completing the task at hand. Fans of the Japanese horror genre would definitely be happy to play this.

3. Slender

Also known as Slender: The Eight Pagesthe game gained a huge fanbase and is also the main reason Slenderman increased his popularity via the internet. The game brings the players to an area within a forest and you’re tasked to find all pages scattered around the vicinity. Every page collected also speeds up the time for ‘the tall pale faceless guy in a suit’ to show up behind you. I screamed at least 10 times in my first time playing this.

4. Fatal Frame

I think a lot of you knows this game very well. It has been the main staple of sleepovers and barkada game nights when we were younger. A true japanese horror game in its full chilling beauty. Mainly armed with only a camera, you are tasked to find your sibling inside a haunted japanese mansion where ghosts and weird creatures run about. The game employs spine-tingling music and mystery solving to get you through the whole game and running is barely an option due to it’s frustrating movement speed. Definitely one of those games I finished in months due to the fact that I can’t play this one alone.

5. Silent Hill

Everyone either knows or played this game one way or another. One of the most popular game franchises out there which also resulted in movies and other games inspired by it. The series takes place in an old deserted town as the name suggests. The main protagonist must find his way through two different aspects of the town: normal ghost town feel and the alternate look of hell on earth. The game brings a lot of scares, from killer faceless nurses to the most notorious of all: Pyramidhead.

There you go, I hope this list would help you break the ice with cousins and relatives during this halloween weekend. I recommend playing these after visiting our dearly departed and saying a few prayers since family always comes first :)

Good tidings to everyone, keep safe and don’t forget to stay geeky as always!

Hi I'm Mac. The day my father Odin banished me from Asgard, I was bitten by a vampire and had radioactive waste dumped into my eyes. To make matters worse, my mutant ability to control weather activated just as I was hit by a blast of gamma radiation.
