Metal Gear Solid V is Ground Zeroes plus The Phantom Pain
Earlier at the Game Developers Conference 2013 (GDC13), known MGS developer Hideo Kojima revealed that the new METAL GEAR SOLID V is made up of Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain, but will be actually called ‘MGS V: The Phantom Pain‘. According to Kojima, The Phantom Pain is an open-world game — “The tutorial itself is a sequence where Snake wakes up from a coma after nine years.” Long time voice-actor David Hayter is not involved in the project, and his replacement has not yet been announced.
He then later showed a lot of stuff regarding the process in making the game with the use of their new FOX Engine:
