The HTC VIVE dropping in stores April 2016!
Virtual Reality seems to be the direction where technology is headed to these days. Today, HTC announced that their virtual reality headset, the HTC Vive will be available for pre-order beginning February 29, 2016.
First, we got the Oculus Rift, the Samsung Gear VR and now the HTC Vive. Everyone is on the virtual reality bandwagon these days. It may take awhile before we got a hand on any of these toys as none of them comes cheap. The HTC Vive is reported to retail at about $800 (roughly Php 38,000), more expensive than both the Oculus Rift ($600) and Samsung Gear VR ($200).
At $800, consumers will get the HTC Vive headset, two wireless controllers, two wall units to track your position and a hub that collects data and transmits it to your computer. The HTC Vive also has a microphone and an improvement to the original design, it now has two wireless cameras that will be able track your motion.
Pre-orders would also come along with two VR games, Job Simulator and Fantastic Contraption. HTC is not all about gaming when it comes to the Vive. Along with these launch titles, HTC is working with developers to create content that would cater multiple sectors that includes entertainment, retail, education, healthcare and automatic that will help change people’s lives for the better.
