Top 5 Games You Need This November

With Christmas just around the corner, piles after piles of games are released with the hopes of climbing to the top of the gaming industry. Who says you have to skip November to feel the holiday spirit? We have listed the top 5 games you must have this November (in no particular order):

1. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare

Following the next franchise of the Call of Duty series, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare made its debut last November 3, 2014. The eleventh installment developed by Sledgehammer Games and published by Activision, is a first person shooter game that takes place in the near future where technology and military collided with some serious consequences. The PMC’s (Private Military Corporation) outnumbered the armed forces and makes the world their own battleground. Among the chaos this era brought, Jonathan Irons, is of course the hero of the plot.

Why do I need this?
If you’re on the fence of buying this game then let one word change your mind: Exosuits. Yes, those exoskeletons would definitely make a difference in your COD experience. While you advance further in the game, players will encounter three variations of the exosuits. The first, known as the assault exosuit, gives you the jet-like agility to glide and jump freely and a grappling hook (which, let’s face it is something that everyone needs). The second is a specialist exosuit. It’s like an all-you-need exosuit that provides the players a health recharging stim pack, a handy riot shield (you can even fold it!) and the overdrive ability. The advanced weaponry works extremely well with the exosuits too. This doesn’t mean you’ll have god-like abilities in the game but definitely changes how you can play the game. It’s like parkour meets wrestling with outrageous firepower that can take out a whole team.
Other than exosuits, the gameplay is superb. You can either play by yourself or play with a team. The multiplayer team sets apart from the previous COD’s since in Advanced Warfare every soldier can call tactical freedom in any terrain. Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare has the best customization COD released yet – from the exosuits, modes, weaponry, and campaign.

2. Assassin’s Creed: Unity

Next installment to the Assassin's Creed series, Unity

Next installment to the Assassin’s Creed series, Unity

Set in the glorious 17th century France, the game follows the previous Assassin’s Creed: Black Flag and stars in Arno Dorian who joins the Assassins and looks into the death of his father. The Ubisoft-developed game is set to hit the stands on November 11, 2014.

Why do I need this?

Besides that this is an Assassin’s Creed installment, the game ranked as one of the most anticipated games of the year since its announcement last San Diego Comic Con. With the publicity Ubisoft had to go through – remember the real parkour of Assassins in the modern streets of Paris? – And the anticipation of presenting a female lead (Hi there, Elise), developers also made the customization and cooperative playing an ultimate must of the game.

You can now channel your inner assassin as players can customize Arno’s gear and skills with over 200 selections that would definitely make your killing – I mean gaming – experience whole lot better. Another buzz in Unity is the cooperative playing. This is the first time Ubisoft has presented an Assassin’s Creed that involves a campaign co-op. From the words of Alex Amancio, players will have to complete the Brotherhood missions, in shared experience, to fulfill their duties towards the Assassins. Nothing like sabotaging executions, assassinating targets, and protecting people can make your relationships with your brothers stronger.

From customization, co-op gaming, rewriting fighting styles, and hardcore parkour mechanics, Assassin’s Creed: Unity is something you need before this year ends. Viva la Revolucion!

3. Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Dragon Age: Inquisition

Inquisition is BioWare’s latest entry to the Dragon Age saga, an installment that all fans have been looking forward to in ages. Players take the role of an Inquisitor leading a band of heroes looking to deal with the taint spreading yet again in the land of Thedas. BioWare confirmed that they’re looking to go back to Dragon Age’s roots, mixing the first’s strategic elements and the second’s action RPG-esque game play. This will be released on November 18, 2014.

Why do I need this?

DA fans have been waiting for this for two years – why do you need a reason? All kidding aside, the game takes players to newer heights. As the campaign progresses, the players’ decisions make a big impact to the Dragon Age world. Inquisition would also showcase a multiplayer co-op aside from the single player game play. Attacking a dragon also differs from the previous Dragon Age series, as the player can now attack different parts of it rather than hitting the dragon as a whole.
With the DICE Frostbite 3 RPG Engine, Dragon Age: Inquisition would definitely kill – from its detailed visuals, wide terrain, more customization, and the decision making impact the players during the progress of the game.

4.Far Cry 4

Fourth franchise of the Far Cry installment

Fourth franchise of the Far Cry installment

From the obviousness of its name, Farcry 4 is the fourth installment from the Far Cry series developed by Ubisoft – same people that brought us Assassin’s Creed. The story takes place in the vast island of Kyrat. Well, to give a better visual, imagine the Bahamas meets the Amazon. The scenery is gorgeous packed with endangered and vicious animals. Plot revolves around the main character, Ahjay Ghale, who made a homecoming with the hopes of scattering his mother’s ashes. However, he was caught between a long running war between a narcissistic self-proclaimed king, Pagan Min, and the resistance, The Golden Path. Far Cry 4 is set to be released on November 18, 2014.

Why do I need this?

The story would unfold depending on which Golden Path leader you’d side with – either the heartless Amita who never thinks twice for the sacrifices they have to make to defeat Min, or Sabal, who believes otherwise. This makes the game longer than the previous Far Cry installments but who’s saying no to free Elephant ride, right? You read that right. You can ride Elephants in Far Cry 4 and use them as weapons to stomp around disturbing NPC’s along the way.
If riding an Elephant won’t convince you enough, then maybe the Microlight Chopper would get your gamer instincts to itch. This chopper is a fast way mode of transportation in Kyrat that can get players to unlock radar towers without the hassle of climbing and sneaking about.

5. GTA 5 for Next Generation

GTA 5 for the Next Generation

GTA 5 for the Next Generation

Since the successful release last year’s Grand Theft Auto 5 for PS3 and XBOX 360, Rockstar games has announced earlier this year for releasing of GTA V for Playstation 4, XBOX One, and PC. What makes this different from the original GTA V? Higher resolutions, better visuals, enhanced weather effects, thicker traffic, multiplayer co-op, and online heists.

Why do I need this?

Okay, so you’ve finished the storyline several times and even hunted down the Easter eggs in GTA V, but will that stop you from stealing cars and rampaging around the streets with gunshots and soldiers at your heels? Of course not! The GTA V for next gen will definitely keep you busy with new side quests and online multiplayer gaming. If you find playing the game’s storyline again a bit tedious – I mean, why would you? – Then transferring of saved files from previous versions will make your life easier.

New quests, new treasures to find, new look…GTA V has gotten the upgrade it deservedly needs.

Platforms: Playstation 4, XBOX One, Microsoft Windows
Release Date: November 18, 2014 (PS4 and XBOX One); January 27, 2015 (PC)
