The story and characters audiences know and love come to spectacular life in Disney’s “Beauty and the Beast,” a live-action adaptation of the studio’s animated classic featuring an extraordinary ensemble cast, including: Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Audra McDonald, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Hattie Morahan and Nathan Mack with Ian McKellen and Emma Thompson.
The much awaited live action movie stuns the crowd. Performing timeless favorite songs from the 90s Disney animated movie, “Beauty and the Beast” also known as “Tale as Old as Time”, “Something There” and many more new refreshing songs added. “Beauty and the Beast” received so much hype even before they released the first trailer to public.
Emma Watson portrays Belle with such beauty and grace in this live-action remake that’s at once nostalgic and also fresh, bringing to life the beloved musical both for kids and longtime adult fans of the animated classic. The film adds modern twists: like a gay Le Fou, witty lines and additional catchy songs to the production.
The set design is the icing to the cake. The 1991 animated film has beautifully drawn backgrounds of the castle, town etc. But this Beauty and the Beast remake captures the magic of the classical film. The 3D animated backgrounds and characters give so much life to the musical numbers and overall impact. It’s amazing what modern technology can do to give the old an upgraded look.
With a lot on its plate, the 1991 animated film won numerous awards. It seems like there’s a lot of expectations for this remake. Although a lot mentioned that the live-action film may not surpass as the 1991 animated film, one will be pleasantly surprised. A beloved classic, but it’s retold with freshness and style. It’ll definitely bring back a lot of old memories, but also makes room for more.
Directed by Bill Condon and based on the 1991 animated film “Beauty and the Beast,” the screenplay is written by Stephen Chbosky and Evan Spiliotopoulos. Alan Menken provides the score, which includes new recordings of the original songs written by Menken and Howard Ashman as well as three new songs written by Menken and Tim Rice. The film is produced by Mandeville Films’ David Hoberman, p.g.a. and Todd Lieberman, p.g.a with Jeffrey Silver, Thomas Schumacher and Don Hahn serving as executive producers.
A spectacular cast & a fantastic live-action rendition of Beauty And The Beast with a contemporary touch to the tale as old as time. Now, thanks to the artistry and imagination of director Bill Condon and a brilliant creative team, audiences of all ages are sure to be captivated by the story’s adventure, passion and romance once again.
