Movies or TV Shows You Should Watch During Christmas

It’s Christmas time! It’s the time of the year when we get presents from our loved ones (especially from our various “Ninongs” and “Ninangs”), we spend a lot on buying the things we’ve wanted the whole year (despite apocalyptic traffic), and of course it’s also the time that gives us the chance to share and bring joy to other people.

When Simbang Gabi is over and we’re stuck at home waiting for the clock to strike at 12 to officially announce Christmas day, most of us just relax at home, reading a book, playing our unfinished game in which office work has been a hindrance all these months, and maybe most of us just enter “kain-tulog” mode.

In line with the “kain-tulog” mode, and maybe if you still plan on staying up late maybe on Christmas eve. We’re sharing with you some of the movies and tv shows that we thought you guys might wanna check out –

A Charlie Brown Christmas

A Charlie Brown Christmas”  is the first animated TV special based on the comic strip “Peanuts” created by Charles M. Schulz. If you’re not familiar with Peanuts or Charlie Brown or even Snoopy…. then make this your chance to know them!! It’s plots revolves around Charlie Brown’s feelings regarding Christmas. It starts when Charlie brown tells Linus that even though Christmas is fast approaching he still feels sad or depressed, despite all the decorating, presents and cards, due to the over-commercialization of Christmas. So if you feel the same, go watch this Charlie Brown special and know the meaning of Christmas.

The Nightmare Before Christmas

The Tim Burton classic is a 1993 stop motion musical fantasy horror film which tells the story of Jack Skellington, a being from “Halloween Town” who opens a portal to “Christmas Town” and decides to celebrate the holiday. In doing so, Jack “steals” Christmas and makes it his own. So think of Christmas time turned into a Halloween nightmare — thats “The Nightmare Before Christmas“! Nightmare is an old flick, but until now it’s still a wonder to watch

When we’re talking about cartoons from our childhood, this series always come to mind. It’s not just because it had the goddamn Batman in it, but it was also because it had great writers, quality and production in which it later garnered  a lot of awards, and also because it had an awesome cast like Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill. And on it’s 2nd episode, it premiered the Joker with the voice of Mark Hamill entitled “Christmas with the Joker“. So if you plan on having a BTAS marathon, make sure you start with this one! Check out Part 1 below:

Home Alone 2: Lost in New York

Although a lot of people wouldn’t consider this as a geeky movie, we still consider this one of the movies you should definitely watch this Christmas season. New York, checking in an expensive hotel, getting all the toys and junkfood you want, well, doing whatever it is you want to do as a kid, it’s all in this movie — Home Alone 2: Lost In New York.
