ANIME CLASSIC KITE LIVE ACTION ADAPTATION TRAILER!
Anime cult-classic KITE gets a Hollywood live action adaptation. Originally released in 1998 as a 2 part anime, KITE is a story about an orphan school girl named Sawa. KITE was probably the most violent and controversial anime released at its time as it depicts strong violence and sexual themes.
This year Hollywood is scheduled to release the live action adaption that stars Samuel L. Jackson and India Eisley (Underworld:Awakening). The Kite live action movie was supposed to team-up Samuel L. Jackson back with his Snakes on a Plane director David Ellis; unfortunately he died even before the production started. Director Ralph Ziman is the one who took over and directing this movie.
In the trailer, Samuel L. Jackson mentions that he is a fan of Kite and he was able to read the manga and watch the original anime. Samuel L. Jackson had been in other anime projects previously as he was the voice behind another anime classic, Afro Samurai. The Weinstein Company would be distributing the film sometime this year. We’ll provided you more updates as more information becomes available. For now, enjoy the trailer.
