“Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” Is FINALLY Coming to Blu-Ray!
If you were one of those guys who were clamoring for a remastered high-definition release of “Batman: Mask of the Phantasm” you can finally cheer in glee as the classic animated film will finally be out on Blu-Ray!
According to Warner Archive Collection’s Page, the 1080p remaster will include the original theatrical 16×9 aspect ratio (1.78:1) AND open matte 4×3 (1.37:1). There is however no word yet on the special features included (as they only announced the theatrical trailer being attached so far), the pricing, or whether or not it will have a special edition of sorts. Fans will finally grace upon the humble beginnings of Bruce Wayne and how he become the Batman as well as the epic showdown between a new foe The Phantasm, and The Joker’s terrifying feats in a new light once again.
Batman: Mask of the Phantasm was a feature length film in 1993 that features the voice talents of Kevin Conroy as Batman and Mark Hamill as The Joker alongside its supporting cast Efrem Zimbalist Jr. as Alfred Pennyworth, Dana Delany as Andrea Beaumont, and Abe Vigoda as Sal Valestra. The film follows the caped crusader trying to clear his name as he found himself in a big mess by a sinister new villain, The Phantasm. The public eye has turned against Batman as he was framed for the murder of Gotham’s most notorious gangsters. But that’s just the least of his problems as a ghost from Bruce’s past has returned to haunt him.
The Cape Crusader will make its remarkable return on Blu-Ray, July 2017!
