Channing Tatum Wants A GAMBIT Movie. Soon.
We all know about Channing Tatum’s dream of playing the Cajun Mutant Gambit, and Fox may officially cast him anytime soon if not sooner. But he’s not done yet.
So far, talks are going around that Channing will get the role of Gambit for the next X-Men movie. In an interview with MTV, he opens up that he is dying to snag the role. However, he wants to see a solo Gambit film first prior to Apocalypse.
“We’ve talked about it being a standalone, first, and actually trying to change the ‘hero’ superhero movie,” Tatum told MTV. “Because Gambit is not your typical hero. He’s a thief. He walks on the gray. I’m hoping we can change it a little bit, and then ultimately feather into the other ones.”
For now, nothing’s been confirmed since it is not yet revealed if he will get what he wishes.
Channing is known for his role as Duke in the G.I. Joe series, and in movies such as Dear John, Step Up, 21 Jump Street, and its upcoming sequel 22 Jump Street.
