Disney•Pixar’s Coco features an all-Latino cast!
And after many successful releases, Disney•Pixar announces a new film called “Coco,” a multi-generational story about the power of family relationships, features characters from the Land of the Living, and their loved ones who’ve moved on to the Land of the Dead.
With similarities to the ReelFX Studio/Fox “The Book of Life”, we’re excited to see Disney’s rendition of the Day of the Dead celebration through this animated film, Coco. Coco features an all-Latino voice cast to capture the heart and soul of the story.
Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel (voice of newcomer Anthony Gonzalez) dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz (voice of Benjamin Bratt). Miguel finds himself entangled in the Land of the Dead, where he discovers more about his family’s rich history.
Directed by Lee Unkrich (“Toy Story 3”), co-directed by Adrian Molina (story artist “Monsters University”) and produced by Darla K. Anderson (“Toy Story 3”).
