LEO MARTINEZ Graces CINESB In An Acting Workshop!
Last April 3, 2014, the College of St. Benilde’s School of Design & Arts was visited by veteran actor, comedian and film consultant Leo Martinez, gracing Cinesb as the main speaker for an indie film acting workshop.
The morning was filled with exercises, fun activities and lessons in theory as Martinez imparted to the students his expertise and knowledge in the craft of acting. He stresses the fact that actors should learn to lose their inhibitions and release all their emotions should they desire to reach the pinnacle of the industry.
“Kung hindi mo mailalabas ang nararamdaman mo, hindi ka pwedeng umarte. Learn to release them. Di ka pwedeng pacute lang sa screen.” (If you’ll be unable to let go of your emotions, you are not qualified to act. Learn to release them. You can’t just stand there and look good all the time.), Martinez shares to the film students present in the workshop.
Currently, Leo Martinez is the director general of the Film Academy of The Philippines.
