Load Up! DREDD Will Return In A New Miniseries!
Since the 2012 premiere of Karl Urban’s sleeper hit Dredd, fans have long been clamoring for a follow up to the said movie. Fortunately, their pleas were not laid to deaf ears, as an upcoming Dredd miniseries will be hitting online soon.
According to TheWrap, Dredd executive producer Adi Shankar has created a secret seven-part miniseries that will focus on the Dark Judges. Shankar spent the last two years crafting the series to thank the supportive fans who signed petitions and campaigned for a Dredd sequel. The miniseries, which will be a part of Shankar’s Bootleg Universe, will be released for free online later this month.
Urban, on the other hand – who’s always up to reprise the iconic role, said “A Dredd sequel, the fans are screaming out for a Dredd sequel and, I would like nothing more than to be a part of it. Dredd screenwriter/producer Alex Garland wants to do it, I want to do it.”
The aforementioned actor starred in the 2012 movie alongside Olivia Thirlby, Lena Headey, Domhnall Gleeson, and Wood Harris. There is no word yet on who will appear in the miniseries.
