Merle Dixon Joins Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy
TV’s Merle Dixon played by Michael Rooker has been officially announced as a new addition to the cast of James Gunn‘s ‘Guardians of the Galaxy‘.
Actor Michael Rooker was cast as Yondu, the co-founder of the original group of Guardians of the Galaxy. He formed the team together with Vance Astro, Martinex T’Naga and Captain Charlie 27…
Rooker expressed his desire on getting a part for Guardians as he’s worked with Gunn in past projects. The actor went on to state that he wanted to lend his voice to the anthropomorphic gunslinger Rocket Raccoon but got this gig instead. Oh and if you’re a purist, you might want to know that Yondu is the first alien that Peter Quill aka Star Lord (played by Chris Platt) encounters during his early adventures in outer space.
