Robert Downey Jr. Says No To IRON MAN 4, But Yes To Future Marvel Movies

A few days ago, we posted an article of Robert Downey Jr. guesting in Ellen’s talkshow, confirming that an Iron Man 4 movie was currently in the works. That got Marvel fans roaring in approval and whetting their appetites for the fourth installment.

But just as fast as the confirmation was made by Downey himself, the issue was quickly put to a dead halt when Downey re-stated that the Iron Avenger’s sequel is not pushing through after all, but that he was a definite shoo-in for other future Marvel movie releases.

In a guesting to David Letterman’s show after the Ellen announcement, Downey said, “There’s no plans for an Iron Man 4. There’s no script for Iron Man 4, but they do have a plan and I think they’re going to announce it…they’ve very secretive about it.” Unsatisfied with Downey’s answer, David Letterman continued to press on the issue, asking for a yes or no if whether Iron Man 4 was a sealed deal or not, to which the actor responded, “Just between us, no, but I’m going to do other stuff with Marvel. I’m still going to be involved with Marvel and there’s gonna be plenty of fun stuff to happen.”

The Judge star is signed on for one more Avengers movie after the sequel to the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron. Whatever the fate of Tony Stark is moving forward from the third Avengers sequel is still a huge question mark for the moment.

Then again, it could be a publicity strategy to garner fan and media attention for his upcoming movie The Judge. Until then, we’ll just have to keep our fingers crossed to wait and see!
