SDCC 2017: Marvel Studios Drops Thor: Ragnarok Trailer!

Marvel Studios dropped their latest trailer for “Thor: Ragnarok” in this year’s San Diego Comic-Con. If the last trailer focuses heavily on the catastrophic what-would-be end of all things thanks to Cate Blanchett’s Hela and Karl Urban’s Executioner, this trailer on the other hand shows director Taika Waititi’s original pitch of this movie being a road trip superhero flick. We get to see Bruce Banner and Thor be reunited, get the band back together with Tom Hiddelston’s Loki, and some new friends along the way like Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie and the fan-favorite Korg.

Aside from Thor’s pretty long locks being gone and his hammer Mjolnir There were however some changes for the jade giant himself and one of those things is that he can talk now! “Because he’s been the Hulk for two years now, he has the vocabulary of a two year old. So we have a speaking Hulk. Can I say that?” Ruffalo questioned only to be followed by Waititi saying “Too late.” Hulk seems like he’s enjoying his time on the planet Sakaar being a bad-ass gladiator for Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster. Witnesses of the additional footage have said that he would “super weird”, a trait that is not too far off from his brother The Collector considering that they were born “right after the big bang” as Goldblum described.

Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
