SPACE BATTLESHIP YAMATO Hollywood Live Action Adaptation

Classic Anime series  Space Battleship Yamato (Uch Senkan Yamato, also called Cosmoship Yamato) is getting a live action adaptation in Hollywood. Also known as Star Blazers, The Argo or Space Batteship Yamato is about a massive battleship protecting the Earth from alien invaders known as the Gamilas/Gamilons. Earth was destroyed by radioactive bombs and its up to Space Battleship Yamato to recover technology that would help restore Earth back. A Japanese live action was released back in 2010 and had received box office success.

Oscar winner director Christopher McQuarrie (Jack Reacher, the upcoming MI:5) is set to write and direct the live action Space Battleship Yamato/Star Blazers under Skydance Productions. Christoper McQuarrie is also producing the film along with Josh C. Kline, David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Shouji Nizhizaki and Paul Schwake are executive producers. No further details are provided as of this time regarding the movie’s production or release date.
