Transformers Bumblebee 1967 Camaro Joining The Top Movie Muscle Cars List?

New Cars for Transformers 4

New cars have been revealed for the Autobots in Transformers 4 recently (see here). The picture above shows the first image of these cars together, and in front leading them is not as flashy as the green 2014 C7 Corvette Stingray and not as luxurious as the blue Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse but more on showing off muscle. Yes folks it has been confirmed by director Michael Bay, that the Black with Yellow paint job is a ‘highly modified, vintage 1967 Camaro SS‘ – is the new Bumblebee car for Transformers 4.

A lot of people are arguing over the new cars chosen, especially for Bumblebee. Some say the movie has lost the spirit of Bumblebee, him being the ‘little brother’, awkward, underdog of the team but now he looks like the coolest kid on the block.

Although we can say that the 1967 Camaro is an underdog since it’s old and vintage, being a muscle car certainly draws an appeal and still looks badass and powerful. There are still no details why Bumblebee changed to a vintage car, or how the plot will go in the new movie but something tells us that there’s something about this classic that’s ‘more than meets the eye‘. The Camaro that they used way back in the first film immediately gained popularity, and for Transformer 4 we think that Michael Bay is trying to do something that would be more memorable — putting their 1967 Camaro SS in everybody’s Top Movie Muscle Cars.

Aside from the muscle cars used by Vin Diesel in the Fast and The Furious series, there are a lot more muscle cars that were popularized because of movies. Some even gained Iconic status because of their show of muscle and speed in car chase scenes. Here are some of these top muscle cars:

  • 1968 Ford Mustang GT 390 (“Bullit” w/ Steve Mcqueen)
1968 Ford Mustang GT390 from Bullitt
  • 1968 Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum (“Bullitt”)
1968 Bullitt Dodge Charger R/T 440 Magnum
  • 1970 Dodge Challenger R/T 440 (“Vanishing Point”)

  • 1967 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 (“Gone In 60 seconds”)
