X-FORCE Movie in the Works?

As all geeks would definitely agree, the Golden Age for comic book movies are upon us with recent big-screen adaptations of The X-Men and The Avengers with all of its subsequent films. Any normal Marvel fan would always ask for more, and recent news reveals that there will be indeed more to come!

Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past hasn’t been released yet but recent rumors that are circulating right now suggests that there will be a big-screen adaptation of X-Force as well. There’s no word yet if this will be the classic Cable led special-ops or if this would be another movie wherein Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as Wolverine to lead a group of mutant assassins. One thing that really jumps out to me is that this could be a huge opportunity for FOX to  introduce more characters into their universe and possibly make solo spin-offs in the future (Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool!) I am just wondering right now what version of The X-Force they will be using since there had been numerous versions through the years for this particular band of assassins. Rick Remender’s Uncanny X-Force keeps popping in my mind whenever I imagine what the movie would look like.

So far the news that I’ve gathered had Kick Ass 2 director Jeff Wadlow as the one who will write and possibly direct this comic-to-movie adaptation. There had been no concrete confirmation yet from the big guys at FOX but hopefully we’ll hear more during the week since they are scheduled to appear at the annual SDCC. Stay tuned for more updates as we find more news on this.

Hi I'm Mac. The day my father Odin banished me from Asgard, I was bitten by a vampire and had radioactive waste dumped into my eyes. To make matters worse, my mutant ability to control weather activated just as I was hit by a blast of gamma radiation.
