JOHN WESLEY SHIPP JOINS THE CAST OF THE NEW FLASH TV SERIES
The star of the original 90s Flash TV show John Wesley Shipp is officially part of CW‘s cast for the new Flash TV series. John Wesley Shipp would play the role of Henry Allen, father to Grant Gustin’s character Barry Allen.
Flash executive producer Greg Berlanti said in a statement “Given his history with The Flash, Andrew Kreisberg, Geoff Johns and I could only think of one person we wanted to play Barry’s father and that was John Wesley Shipp. He gives a fantastic and emotional performance in the pilot and we are looking forward to his presence in many more episodes. Also, personally, it was just wonderful to work with him again since my days at ‘Dawson’s Creek’. He’s a great actor and a great guy.”
John Wesley Shipp was revealed to be part of the new Flash TV series when a picture of him in an Allen family photo was revealed in the extended trailer released earlier this month (read here). Arrow’s Stephen Amell is confirmed to join the cast of the Flash on its pilot episode. CW’s FLASH stars Grant Gustin (Barry Allen/The Flash), Candice Patton (Iris West), Rick Cosnett (Eddie Thawne), Danielle Panabaker (Caitlin Snow), Carlos Valdes (Cisco Ramon), Tom Cavanagh ( Harrison Wells) and Jesse L. Martin ( Detective West).
