Sometimes all hope is not lost, and it’s particularly true when it comes to a certain cancelled animated series. Today, Warner Bros. Animation have confirmed that the critically-acclaimed animated series Young Justice is returning for a third season.

According to the press release, season 3 promises to “new twists, turns and dangerous new threats for the team.” However, Warner Bros. Animation have not yet announced a release date or a network partner for the show at this point.

“The affection that fans have had for Young Justice, and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us,” said Sam Register, President, Warner Bros. Animation and Warner Digital Series. “We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.”

Furthermore, original series producers Brandon Vietti (Batman: Under the Red Hood, Superman: Doomsday) and Greg Weisman (Star Wars Rebels, Gargoyles) are set to return for the third season.

Originally aired in Cartoon Network, Young Justice ran for two seasons from 2011 until its abrupt cancellation in 2013, much to the dismay of fans. The series reached more than 25 million viewers, and won an Emmy Award.

Warner Bros. Animation has also set-up a new website for the series, YJS3.com, to keep fans up to date with the latest information regarding the series.
