CIVIL WAR II: 3 reasons to get it RIGHT NOW

It’s been roughly 10 years since the original Civil War limited series from Marvel Comics hit shelves across the globe and raised Mark Millar to legendary status. And recently it has been a month since Captain America: Civil War hit cinemas and raised over US$ 1.1 billion at the box office. With this in mind, it’s no surprise that Marvel released their highly anticipated follow-up Civil War II last week!

WHY PICK IT UP?

1. Brian Michael Bendis

Eisner award-winning writer Brian Michael Bendis has got to be one of the most well-known writers (and my personal favorite) figures in the comic book world. Popular for his ability with dialogue, he’s known for bringing his characters to life! Check out his legendary runs on Daredevil, House of M, Uncanny X-Men, Ultimate Spider-Man and New Avengers! With Bendis at the helm of Civil War II, we got another instant classic coming at us.

2. Crisis Mode

10 years ago, it was the Superhuman Registration Act that split the Avengers apart and pit Cap and Iron Man against each other in a battle of “Whose Side Are You On?” This year, a new threat arrives when an Inhuman is discovered with the ability to foresee future threats. Tensions heat up between Captain Marvel and Iron Man raising the question: Can the punishment come before the crime?

3. Deaths in the Family

There wouldn’t be much of a war without a reason, at the end of the first issue we lose two beloved Avengers. After a mission under Captain Marvel goes awry thanks to our new Inhuman’s precognition, the fight for control of his abilities begins. Scroll down for more.
