COMIC BOOK REVIEW: Avengers X-Sanction #3

Reviewing Avengers X-Sanction # 3 by Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuiness from Marvel Comics.

Simply exceptional. This book has not only shattered my expectations and I could say that it was a far cry from what I was expecting from writer Jeph Loeb.

The book’s art was again an instant classic as we get a titanic fight between the Red Hulk and a slowly dying Cable. Anchors get thrown around, there’s a lot of gloating and a surprise twist that will leave people going “ohhhhhh”.

The strongest point for this book and this particular issue is the slow and exciting reveal of whats happened in the future. There were two specific pages from this issue alone that’s worth checking out. This page features a mishmash of old and new elements and subtle hints about what the Avengers have gone through to ensure their victory over the remaining mutants on Earth 616.

It wouldn’t be a part or the prologue for ‘Avengers vs X-Men‘ if the book does not have an appearance featuring the central characters from the X-Men side of things – Cyclops and adoptive grand daughter Hope Summers (who will also play a large part in AvX).

Overall, the book was wicked and you’ll definitely get your moneys worth. Avengers X-Sanction # 3 is a good read and its important if you want to be part of the action that encompass Marvel’s 2012 event.

Verdict: 9/10
