DARTH VADER ANNUAL #1 drops today, gets PINOY treatment
Everyone is hyped to watch the newest installment to the Star Wars universe opening this week, and to get you even more excited to dive back into the galaxy far far away: the new Darth Vader Annual #1 releases today, December 16. Not only is the Dark Lord getting a great jumping-on point for his faithful followers in comic book form, he is also receiving the treatment from two Filipino comic book artists: penciler Leinil Yu and inker Gerry Alanguilan.
Yu and Alanguilan have been teaming up for a over a decade now with works from big titles and story lines in Marvel Comics, such as Avengers, Secret Invasion, Indestructible Hulk and many more. This time, they have collaborated with writer Kieron Gillen (Phonogram, The Wicked + The Divine, Young Avengers) for DARTH VADER ANNUAL #1. The two Filipino artists will then work with writer Jason Aaron (Southern Bastards, Goddamned) for Star Wars #16 in February 2016, while Yu and Alanguilan will illustrate the story arc Rebel Jail right after Star Wars mini-crossover story Vader Down.
