First Look at AQUAMAN In JUSTICE LEAGUE: THRONE OF ATLANTIS!

Warner Bros. Home Entertainment has released a new teaser photo of Aquaman in the next DC Universe Original movie, which has officially been titled Justice League: Throne of Atlantis!

Throne of Atlantis Aquaman

Inspired by the character’s reboot in DC’s New 52, the movie adapts a comic arc where the undersea nation of Atlantis goes to war with the surface world after a botched nuclear weapons test. Unlike the comic, however, the movie will focus on how a young Arthur Curry discovers his aquatic heritage and becomes Aquaman.

We meet him at a low point in his life,” supervising producer James Tucker shares to TV Guide. “He’s a little bit lost. His father has died and he’s always been an outsider, so the one person who had his back is now gone. When that Atlanteans instigate incidents to escalate a war with the surface world, he doesn’t yet know who he is. As he discovers his true history he’s going to have a lot of choices to make. It’s definitely about him finding his own path.”

Aquaman will be voiced by Matt Lanter, who voiced Anakin Skywalker in Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The film will pick up from the events in Justice League: War, and will bring back most of the movie’s cast including Jason O’Mara (Batman), Shemar Moore (Cyborg), Christopher Gorham (the Flash), Sean Astin (Shazam).

Joining the Throne of Atlantis cast are Warner Animation veterans Nathan Fillion (Green Lantern), Rosario Dawson (Wonder Woman) and Jerry O’Connell (Superman).
