GEEK FACTS: Pinoy Comic Artist in Award-Winning Series – “FABLES”

GEEK FACTS is a column in Flipgeeks that showcases geek factoids especially concerning Filipinos in geek culture.

Vertigo, an imprint of DC comics has been well known to the comics community for bringing different kinds of stories that involve mature content, horror, fantasy, crime and other non-superhero genres to a more sophisticated audience. One of its most acclaimed and long-running series is Bill Willingham‘s book dealing with various characters from different fairy tales and folkore entitled FABLES. Pinoy comic artist Lan Medina! Medina art duties in jump starting the series was integral to its success, garnering Eisner awards (the most prestiguous in the comics industry) for Best New Series and Best Serialized Story.
