Marvel and IDW Partner Up for New Line of Kid-Friendly Comics

Marvel-IDW-Spider-ManMarvel Comics and IDW Publishing have announced their partnership for a new line of comics.

Launching in November, the new line of “middle-grade” comics and trade paperback collections will be targeted towards young readers (in the eight to twelve age bracket), and to be published by IDW.

The line will kick off with a Spider-Man title starring Peter Parker and Miles Morales, followed by an Avengers and Black Panther series in the following months.

“Marvel is excited to work with IDW to share these brand-new stories with our younger fans,” said Marvel editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski. “Characters like Spider-Man, Black Panther, and the Avengers inspire us through their strength and determination, but they resonate with readers because of the struggles they face and the challenges they overcome. We want to share their journeys with our younger fans first-hand.”

IDW already has track record in publishing comics for kids, including My Little Pony, and a whole line of Walt Disney titles.

“This partnership reflects the true spirit of collaboration at work,” said Greg Goldstein, president and publisher of IDW. “As comic book publishers, IDW and Marvel are able to produce high-quality visual storytelling experiences for fans both young and old. By combining our efforts, along with Marvel’s ever-increasing presence in popular culture, the results will be spectacular.”

No story details and creative teams were announced yet, but stay tuned as more details are revealed.
