Yesterday, Square Enix teased about an “exciting announcement” for January 26. Incidentally, Marvel also teased of an announcement for the same date, though now we know it was no mere coincidence.
Just moments ago, both companies simultaneously revealed their collaboration on their respective social media outlets with a short video teaser for the first game to come out of this multi-game partnership.

With hashtag #Reassemble, The teaser suggests that these games won’t be set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but if DC and WB’s Injustice series is any indication, it just might be for the better.
Both CrystalDynamics(Rise of the Tomb Raider) and Eidos Montreal(Deus Ex: Mankind Divided) were tagged and featured in the teaser which could either mean both developers are collaborating on a single project or that both are working on two separate albeit related games –the latter being the more likely.

Besides The Avenger Project, Marvel is also currently working with Insomniac Studios on a new Spider-Man game exclusively for the PlayStation 4 and a new Marvel Vs. Capcom game with Capcom. Gazillion Entertainment also teases a major update for Marvel Heroes. It’s safe to say that for 2017, Marvel intends to pull out all the stops in the gaming scene.
Expect to see more information about this exciting new partnership in the coming weeks. For more gaming news and updates like this one, keep it here on Flipgeeks!
