Superman at 75, Zack Snyder Developing Superman Short with Bruce Timm

This year is gonna be Superman’s 75th anniversary! With Man Of Steel coming to theaters this month, DC Comics is treating us to more goodies. Warner Bros. has debuted a new company-wide logo (below) and will be used all throughout 2013. The logo will appear prominently in the new ongoing series Superman Unchained by Scott Snyder and Jim Lee, as well as the new MOBA game Infinite Crisis (see here.)

But of course the real treat is that Zack Snyder, director for Man of Steel, is reportedly working with acclaimed Batman: The Animated Series co-creator Bruce Timm in creating a Superman animated short. Also working on this project is Man of Steel storyboard artist Jay Olivia, DC Comics CCO Geoff Johns, Mike Carlin and WB Animation’s Peter Girardi.

The short is said to ‘pay homage’ to all versions of Superman over the years, from the Max Fleischer cartoons (watch all here) upto the big screen with Christopher Reeve, etc. The animated short will debut at Comic-Con international this summer.
