“The Sandman: Overture” by Gaiman amd J.H. Williams III and more VERTIGO Titles Coming This Fall

After a year announcing the collaboration between Neil Gaiman and J.H. Williams III for 2013, Sandman fans would be delighted to know that a new series will debut this fall around October and November together with new Vertigo titles.

According to the The New York Times, The Sandman: Overture #1 by Neil Gaiman and J. H. Williams II will be out on October 30, 2013 and thus signalling the end of a 17 year wait for new Sandman material. Overture will be published bi-monthly through 2013-2014 that will also include works from legendary letterer Todd Klein , some behind-the-scenes commentary and sketches.

Another Sandman-verse book will also debut this year around November. Although it still doesn’t have a title yet but it will be a new Dead Boy Detectives story. Some new books that will launch this year are Hinterkind by Ian Edginton and a still unannounced artist, and The Discipline by Peter Millgian and an announced artist too. Hinterkind is set in a post-apocalyptic world populated by mythical creatures, while The Discipline is “an erotic thriller about a woman at the center of an shadow war that spans eons.”
