Travis McIntire Launches All Ages Comic BAYANI on Kickstarter
A new comic project has launched on Kickstarter recently by Travis McIntire called Bayani and The Nine Daughters of the Moon. The title will very much sound familiar to Filipino audiences, since it is based on Filipino folklore.
As reported on Bleeding Cool, Bayani and The Nine Daughters of the Moon is an all ages comic book that follows the adventures of a kid named Bayani. Popular Filipino monsters are set to appear in Bayani’s quests along with other recognizable tidbits from Filipino mythology.
Creator Travis McIntire is handling writing duties while Grant Perkins (Penguins of Madagascar, 2000 A.D.) is doing the art. Taylor Esposito of DC Comics does the letters for the comic and Rich Bloom (C.O.W.L.) provided logo design.
Issue #1 has already been completed, which is called Bayani and the Old Ghosts. Caliber Comics has picked up the book for publishing. However, the project still needs support Kickstarter to get it running full swing.
