WORLDS UNITE as Sega and Capcom Franchises Cross Over

While the Archie Comics company is well-known for publishing adventures featuring the character they were named after, they are also recognized for tackling comics featuring licensed material. Two gaming icons, Sonic the Hedgehog and Mega Man, have had comics released by Archie Comics and this year, their crossover is set to expand in the biggest possible way.

Sonic and Mega Man have previously crossed over in the 2013 title “Worlds Collide” and now a sequel will take place, featuring other characters from Sega and Capcom as well, in a epic that will span across numerous game worlds.

“This crossover event is unlike any other you’ve ever seen before. So sit back, grab a chili dog and an E-Tank, and prepare yourself for the ultimate multi-franchise crossover comic book experience!” Archie Comics Executive Director of Editorial Paul Kaminski said to IGN.com.

Aside from MEGA MAN and SONIC THE HEDGEHOG, franchises from Sega such as SKIES OF ARCADIA, BILLY HATCHER and GOLDEN AXE will be locking horns with franchises from Capcom like STREET FIGHTER, OKAMI and VIEWTIFUL JOE, to name a few.

The series proper will begin in SONIC UNIVERSE #76 and will contain 12 parts, however a prelude offering will be available at Free Comic Book Day this May.
