Every toy collection starts with a theme. Some may come from their favorite tv series, movies, comic book, video games or may be a piece of nostalgia from their childhood. Today we’d feature someone that is no stranger to most of us, we know him from numerous games like the Legend of Zelda and recently, Super Smash Bros.
We present to you, Nendoroid’s Link from The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker. If you’re going to ask, if I have played the game? Nope. I’m Playstation guy so my knowledge about Nintendo games are almost close to none.
PACKAGING: 10/10
How could you not fall in love with this figure the minute you saw it in its box? It’s screaming “KAWAII!” right out of the box. How much cuteness can you contain in a box? The box has good pictures of Link front and back, as well as on the side and has a clear plastic that allows you to see the figure and other contents inside the box.
ACCESSORIES: 9/10
Armed with interchangeable face plates, replacement arms and legs, a sword, a wand, a shield, a slashing effect, a base and a heart. It’s a figure with a heart, literally. Haha. Kidding aside, Nendoroid packed Link with all the essentials he needs. As you might have noticed from my previous reviews, an action figure base is necessary for every action figure. I’m glad that all Nendoroids have one.
SCULPT and PAINT 10/10
This is the where the Nendoroid Link stands out. Link is painted with his trademark green, blonde hair and a flesh skintone. The colors makes Link pop-out right out of the box. The paint job is so good that a you could display Link anywhere and he’d still stand out.
ARTICULATION: 9/10
If you are looking for articulation on this figure, sadly you won’t get much from a Nendoroid. You’d only get a moving head, arms and legs. Having no articulation actually is more of strength for this figure. It’s a chibi (short person/small child) so you don’t need elbow or knee joints. Whatever pose you do with Link, it would still end up adorable.
OVERALL: 9.5/10
We couldn’t say how much I love this figure. This is the first Nendoroid that we got a hold of for a review and we were swept off our feet. This would probably be the highest rating that we’ve given for a collectible. What’s not to love about this figure? Its highly displayable and playable. Nendoroid’s Link looks like a vinyl/statue but also plays like an action figure. Good luck on finding one though, since I haven’t seen this figure around much. It was released since 2014 and there might be difficulty in finding one but if ever you do, it’s for keeps!
