ANIME PREVIEW: Gundam Reconguista in G
The latest addition to Sunrise’s Gundam franchise is almost here!
Gundam Reconguista in G (also known as G-Reco) takes place in the Regild Century (R.C.) which comes after the Universal Century (U.C.) Timeline where the Gundam Unicorn movie series took place. The series follows protagonist Bellri Zenam, a Capital Guard member tasked with the protection of the Capital tower from space pirates, which later encounters and take over an advanced mobile suit, the G-self and its pilot, Aida Surugan. Feeling a connection with the mobile suit and the pilot, Bellri Zenam then joins the space pirates on a fight against the Capital Army.
Yoshiyuki Tomino, director of the 1999 Gundam series Turn A Gundam, returns to helm the screenplay for G- Reco. If you think that the characters designs looks similar to a certain anime, then you are right. Kenichi Yoshida of Overman King Gainer and Eureka Seven provided the design for the characters in this series.
The series is set to premiere on October 2, 2014.
