STGCC UPDATE: KIPI, FAMED JAPANESE COSPLAYER & HOT TOYS FROM HONG KONG’S HEAD TO STGCC 2011

The Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC) 2011 is
pleased to announce that popular Japanese Cosplayer, Kipi, will be making her first appearance in Singapore at this year’s event. STGCC, which takes place 20 & 21 August 2011, is an annual popular culture convention showcasing the latest and greatest from toys, games and comics from the East and West.

Since Kipi’s debut at Japan’s TFT Cosplay Expo in 2006, she has risen to become one of the most recognized Cosplay sensations worldwide. She has made numerous guest appearances in many Cosplay and gaming conventions in Japan, Taiwan, China and Thailand. At STGCC, Kipi will be judging the Cosplay@STGCC competition and participating in forums and Meet-the-Fans sessions where Cosplay aficionados will have the opportunity to get up close and personal with her.

More details on Kipi’s participation will be posted on the STGCC website and Facebook as soon as they are available. Fans can also visit her blog.

Apart from Cosplay aficionados, toy fans are also in for a treat with the first-time participation of Hot Toys with their own dedicated concept booth at STGCC. Hot Toys is a Hong Kong-based collectible production company renowned for designing, developing and manufacturing high quality and highly detailed collectibles of popular movie, video game and anime characters such
as The Dark Knight, Iron Man and Astro Boy.

They will be launching limited edition collectible figurines from their 2011 Toy Fairs Exclusive range at STGCC in collaboration with homegrown retail chain, Action City. This exclusive range is only available at select international toy fairs such as San Diego Comic Con, Ani-com & Games Hong Kong and STGCC.

Iron Man and toy fans will want to get their hands on exclusive figurines such as the Iron Man 2: Mark IV Limited Edition Collectible Figurine (Secret Project) by Hot Toys. A great collector’s item, the 1/6th scale Mark IV collectible is highly detailed and fully deployed, specially crafted based on the image of Robert Downey Jr. as the iconic character Mark IV in the Iron Man 2 movie. Moreover, fans can view a showcase of Hot Toys figurine collection.
