TOYCON Day 1 [Obligatory] Post
But remember one thing: the second day is always better than the first. -Billie Joe Armstrong
I’ve been to enough conventions to know that the first day will always be the least memorable, least eventful, and least crowded. Let’s be honest here – this post exists partly to tell you that, well, nothing really happened on the first day of this year’s ToyCon. Well, at least not during the time I was there (5PM to about 8PM). It was a Friday – the last day of the work/school week – and it was raining HARD. It’s not surprising that there was still enough room in the venue for a guy to stretch his arms. If the first day is any indication, though, the next two days are going to be awesome.
You definitely won’t get bored; there are booths that exhibit high-end collectibles and statues, booths that offer great discounts and box after box of low-priced comic books and compilations, and even demonstration booths for people who are interested in arts and crafts.
If you still need more reasons to look forward to Day 2 and Day 3:
- There are daily raffles and giveaways.
- Beloved characters take center stage.
- Celebrities and cosplay favorites will be there.
- Great deals and bargains are everywhere.
So, what are you waiting for? Be sure to join your fellow geeks in SM Megamall’s Megatrade Halls 1-3 at 10AM onwards, this Saturday and Sunday.
