What do you get when you flip over a really cliche or just plain bad action movie for a number of times? SEXCASTLE would be the result.
Sexcastle follows the beats of a bad action/revenge movie: there’s the protagonist who’s trying to start anew from his previous killer status, a quiet town for the protagonist to settle into, bad guys that bring danger, and more. It’s all here. Kyle Starks does a phenomenal job maintaining his identity throughout this comic by planting all kinds of fun in every movie trope that was here through one liners, cursing, ridiculous action, and not to mention the amount of Sexcastle‘s mean personality in almost every page. Starks’ art is also just as quirky as everything that’s happening in the comic, delivering a black and white aesthetic that shines the most with the well choreographed action pieces.
Sexcastle is so occasionally mean, fast paced, and fun that taking a break in between sections would be impossible. Kyle Starks pretty much has a mastery of the art of turning almost every existing action movie into a single glorious comic. Sexcastle is definitely an instant favorite that no one should miss out on.
