Geekology 101 Book Launching Starring Jay Tablante, Jinri Park and Alodia Gosiengfiao
Jay Tablante‘s new cosplay book entitled “Geekology 101” was launched on Saturday, October 20. in the National Book Store in Greenhills Shopping Center.
The new book showcases the photographer’s uncanny cosplay photos featuring the talents from GMA’s Talent Center. We’ll have to refer you over to our BTS coverage of Jay’s White Phoenix shoot with Alodia Gosiengfiao.
The coffee table book was published by National Book Store with proceeds going to Operation Smile.
The event started past 4 pm with an eager crowd of cosplay fans, cosplayers and photographers getting ready to see their idols (yes, idols is a pretty good word to use). It was a pretty fun event because it felt like everybody present was in this little geeky bubble inside NBS.
The launching was also graced by our friends from the The Philippines X-Men Cosplay Team
But really the piece de resistance for the whole event was Alodia and Jinri Park. Alodia came in with her sister and boyfriend while Jinri really just came in by her lonesome (or at least thats what I saw). After a brief talk about how Geekology 101 came to be, as well as several photo ops, the group proceeded to the main event; the signing of copies of both Jinri’s Gravure book as well as Jay’s Geekology 101.

Guys we’re really gung-ho in promoting this coffee table book not just because of the great looking cosplay shots Jay managed to create but also because of the smiles the proceeds would be able to produce. If you missed the first launching you can go and catch Jay this Saturday (October 27) during Komikon 2012. The book is moderately priced at P345.
