AMPED FEST Seals Huge Comeback in TOYCON 2012

Amped Fest” recently sealed its huge comeback as over 1,000 Kapamilya gamers from all over the Philippines flocked ABS-CBN Multimedia‘s signature event in the 2012 Toy Convention (ToyCon) at the SM Megatrade Hall, last June 16-17.

ABS-CBN Multimedia kicked of the most-awaited return of “Amped Fest” with the launch of its newest online games—the massive multiplayer third-person shooter game ‘Cosmic Break;’ action RPG (role playing game) ‘C21: Street Battle Chronicles;’ and the ‘Relic of Mystra’ and the version 4 patches of Amped’s flagship brands Shaiya and WarRock.

The BlackListed guild members of Shaiya Philippines won the bidding war for the rare virtual item ‘goddess cape’ for P7,000 on the first day and P8,000 on the second day. The guild also emerged as victors of the 6 vs 6 Shaiya tournament, where BlackListed and its rival Crayola, which flew some of its members from Visayas and Mindanao, were awarded up to three billion worth of gold for having the biggest delegation.

Meanwhile, the national champions Most Wanted, which is set to compete for the Korean online gaming championships, dominated the WarRock contingent with guild TIER.

A mini-WarRock cup was held to give a preview of the JBlaze Cup, which according to GM (Game Master) Johnny Blaze will be culminated late this year either in Korea or Indonesia. Team Locust Pogi Points and Team Cool Jacks shared the first prize after a controversial final round which lasted until midnight.

Game Master Barbie Lee wowed the crowd when she introduced her signature cosplay outfit, as Kapamilya celebrities Sarah Geronimo, who came in her cosplay outfit, and Zaijan Jaranilla graced the ToyCon event as well.

International cosplayer champion Jia Gold Bustamante, who represented Shaiya’s Goddess of Light, won ToyCon’s booth babe contest; while cosplayer Jaycell Vasquez was awarded with the Amped Gaming Galaxy Cosplay Award along with a Game Master contract with ABS-CBN Multimedia and a P5,000 cash prize. Another cosplay champ, Bolen Lareza, 9 years old, also served as the “Amped” brand ambassador by donning the C21 M-Robot mecha suit.

Other cosplayers Samantha Tan De Guzman and Leah Chan, in their Cosmic Break characters Kisrill and Lily Rain Eve, graced the event with the “Amped” cosplayers Jenny Banquil (Shaiya Dark Goddess), Jimmin Jane Garcia (WarRock sniper Veronica), Annie Rose Dumigpi (WarRock assault trooper Jade) and Pia Elissa Cariaso (Get Amped II’s Esper).
