Video Game Easter Eggs You May Have Missed
12. Sanctum 2 – Space Gandalf
This little-known first person tower defense game sure did know how to make easter eggs, especially this particular one. In one of the game’s levels, you can spot an old fool hanging on for dear life at the edge of a broken platform. As you approach the overly dramatic guy, he’ll utter out “Fly, you fools” before plunging into the void, perfectly reenacting Gandalf’s famous scene from LOTR when fighting the Balrog. All that’s missing is a hobbit-sized cry and I would’ve shed a tear.
11. Dead Rising – Jill’s Sandwiches
Remember that incredibly ridiculous line in the original Resident Evil when Barry says“that was TOO close, you were almost a JILL SANDWICH!”? Well, so does Capcom. In their satirical zombie adventure series that is Dead Rising, Capcom pokes fun at the whole thing by placing an unusual little shop called Jill’s Sandwiches in the game. I guess in this universe, Jill never made it out of that trap room.
10. Alice: Madness Returns – Psy-corpse-nauts
Ever wondered what happened to Raz from PlayStation 2’s Psychonauts? Well, if you’ve played Alice: The Madness Returns, you might have, albeit unknowingly, stumble across what seems to be his remains. I guess this confirms that there won’t ever be a Psychonauts 2, at least not with Raz.
9. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed – “I hate you.”, “I know.”
Too bad Star Wars: The Force Unleashed isn’t canon because there, Jar Jar friggin Binks can be found frozen in carbonite. It’s a far less forgiving fate than his recently revealed post-abolished republic situation in the Star Wars mainstream universe.
