Last Episode for December – the “46 Million Peso Painting” and more

The last episode of Suit Up featuring FlipGeeks for the year was aired on December 23, 2011 and is now still on replay at Channel 8 Destiny Cable and Channel 1 GSat Southeast Asia.

(L-R) Tony, Earl, Vicky, MB and Xiao

For this episode we had Mr. Xiao Chua (Michael Charleston Briones Chua), Vice President of the Philippine Historical Association. Xiao talked about the controversial “46php MILLION Painting” – Juan Luna’s Parisian Life. I first read about the painting years ago in a newspaper, and it was really great to know that it’s already here in its proper home. The price is definitely an eye-popper, but Xiao said that it includes the cost during the auction, the shipping and other stuff. Yep, it was painted by Juan Luna, a hero, and a national artist – and the painting did have a lot of interesting factors and analysis surrounding it.

Xiao talking about the controversial painting

Xiao shared some of the analysis already made with regards the painting – like the men around the girl, the girl’s posture, the glasses in front of the girl, and a lot more interesting stuff!

We also had Ms. Vicky Faye Aquino to talk about her ongoing exhibit titled – “Intuitive Nature: A Second Solo Exhibition”. Vicky’s exhibit will upto January 07, 2012 at the White Cube Gallery of the Metropolitan Museum. She does have a lot of pretty paintings, and I’m sure art lovers will love it! Check out below some pics from her exhibit, but it would be great if you guys will go to the exhibit and check em out yourselves:
