Another reboot? Marvel’s beloved friendly neighborhood Spider-Man has been rebooted twice. The first iconic role was given to Toby Maguire followed by Andrew Garfield before the titular hero was casted to Tom Holland.

And like any other reboot, fans will always have this question in their heads, “Is it worth watching?”, “ How is it compared to the previous one?” and so on.

This third time’s the charm for Marvel’s Spider-Man portrayers. Tobey Maguire was pretty good Peter Parker, but an okay Spiderman, Andrew Garfield was a good Spider-Man, but an okay Peter Parker, but Tom Holland … Well, this is pretty much a solid casting.

While the special-effects are always awesome, because it’s Marvel after all! From great writing and artistic direction – down to punchlines and serious moments, the icing on the cake would have to be Tom Holland’s acting.

SPI1

This storyline happens right after the events in Captain America: Civil War, which ties this franchise to the MCU.

Thrilled by his experience with the Avengers, young Peter Parker returns home to live with his Aunt May. Under the watchful eye of mentor Tony Stark, Parker starts to embrace his newfound identity as Spider-Man. He also tries to return to his normal daily routine — distracted by thoughts and trying to prove that he is capable of so much more. Peter is then put to test when a looming Vulture that threatens his beloved neighborhood & the people he holds dear.

It’s a great to see a superhero engaged in everyday activities, like going to school, finding guts to tell your crush your feelings… We keep forgetting that this Spider-Man is still just a kid, a 14 year-old kid at that! A superhero is just as human as any of us.

Spider-Man: Homecoming is difficult to miss. You don’t need to be a hardcore comic book fan to be able to understand all the witty dialogues and explosive battles that involves a few familiar faces.

SPI2

Spider-Man: Homecoming embraces its sense of fun & is everything you wished the Spider-Man reboot to be! Maybe even better.

Glad to see that Marvel has finally tied this franchise to the Marvel Cinematic Universe in it’s wittiest way possible. This second reboot delivers a colorful & fresh new take to our friendly neighborhood Spiderman!

I can definitely say this Spidey gets the job done. 2017 continues to build a very satisfying year superhero movies – following Wonder Woman, Logan etc.

Spider-Man: Homecoming now plays in a cinema near you! Be sure to catch this Spidey reboot!
