MOVIE REVIEW: Walt Disney’s Brave

If you’re looking for a good movie to see this weekend, we recommend you see “Brave” from Walt Disney Studios. Here are some of the reasons why you should round up the kids and shuffle to the nearest theaters.

The story follows the tale of Merida, a young Scottish princess who wants to be free and never gets along with her mother, Queen Elinor. Things take a turn for the worse when something happens to her mother which forces both of them to re-examine their familial bonds.

I loved Brave. Its a modern story about teenagers, freedom and the how listening can solve a lot of problems. I was lucky enough to see the movie in 3D courtesy of Walt Disney Studios and I was really impressed with the level of quality Pixar and Disney put into the film.

Some of the set pieces in the film that really kicks the stereo 3D in this flick includes the chase scene and as well as the parts were Merida and her mother were fishing in the river. You’d probably even duck at the first sign of those splashes of water.

Storywise, Brave was concise and clear cut. There were a couple of loose threads hanging in the end but its all forgivable because Merida managed to save the day. There was never really a true resolution between Merida’s dad (who happens to be the king) and the other kings of the land as to what happens with their marriage proposal. All that’s left was that they all became friends.

One big mistake that I made (and I’m really hoping that you don’t do) is leave the theater after the credits. Yes, Disney takes a cue from Marvel and leaves an after credit scene for us to enjoy…
