SIMPSONS NO MORE? Homer and Marge splitting up.
Homer Simpson and Marge Simpson are calling it quits. I wouldn’t sugar coat it for you, it’s over. The Simpsons are no more, Homer and Marge are separating.
Confirmed by the show’s own executive producer, Al Jean, in his recent interview with Variety, Homer and Marge are “legally separating.” He mentioned that “in the premiere (season 27), it’s discovered after all the years Homer has narcolepsy and it’s an incredible strain on the marriage. Homer and Marge legally separate, and Homer falls in love with his pharmacist, who’s voiced by Lena Dunham.”
Everyone I know or probably everyone who’s reading this knows who the Simpsons are. They’re just basically one of the longest running TV shows today. Whether you were born in the 80s, 90s or 00s you must have heard or seen even a single Simpsons’ episode.
This really came as a shock, makes me sad as a fan. Even if they were a dysfunctional family, you loved them for what they are and over the years you became part of this family. It’s hard to admit and as cliché as it may be, this makes you want to believe that forever doesn’t truly exist. Or maybe this is just a prequel to something even better, may be in the end they’ll get back together or may be they don’t.
If it’s hard enough for us fans to accept it, what more to Bart, Maggie and Lisa? This is definitely going to bring a lot of change to the Simpsons. We could all speculate about things to come, hope for the best and wait until the next season comes out. Season 27 is scheduled to air September 27, 2015.
